Because of the "Fair Use" guidelines assoicated with copyrighted
images, I would have to 'transform' this picture and add meaning in
some way in order to use this it. I could use this picture as an
illustration or example of a successful children's story book by
drawing attentionto the detailed and colorful illustrations on the front. As a child is reading this book, he can supplement his
undersanding by paying attention to the images on the inside pages and comparingthem with the cover: an observant reader/learner
would realize that the clock hands change and the sky out the window changes in color.
Self-Created Image
Because my project concerns reading and books, I will be able to
create many of my own images. One idea I have is to stack and
organize some of the books I collect into a spiral shape, and then take
the picture directly down from the top of the spiral to create an
interesting camera angle. The books will be open to pages with color
and eye-catching pictures to demonstrate the types of reading material that is most beneficial to young readers.
